AI-Powered Goal Creation and Personalized Goal Suggestions

Getting started with goals no longer means starting from scratch. BambooHR AI now helps turn rough ideas into clear, structured goals in seconds, while also surfacing personalized suggestions based on real work happening across your organization. The result is faster goal creation, better alignment, and more meaningful performance conversations.

What's new

Creating high-quality goals is now quicker and more consistent with built-in AI support. A guided goal assistant helps transform a simple idea into a fully-formed goal, complete with a clear title, structured description, suggested due date, and actionable milestones.

At the same time, personalized goal suggestions appear automatically on the Goals tab. These suggestions are tailored using existing context like 1:1s, assessments, job title, and feedback, helping employees and managers focus on what matters most without extra effort.

Each suggested goal is thoughtfully structured using SMART goal principles, so goals are not just easy to create but also measurable and actionable. Goals are also automatically tagged to company core values, strengthening alignment between individual contributions and organizational priorities.

What you'll see

When creating a new goal, you see an option to launch the goal assistant directly from the goal modal. After answering a couple of quick prompts, you receive a small set of tailored goal options to choose from. Once selected, the goal fields are automatically filled in and ready for review or editing.

On the Goals tab, you notice a panel with up to three suggested goals personalized to each user. These suggestions update based on relevant activity like completed 1:1s or performance reviews.

Start using the goal assistant when creating your next goal to quickly generate structured, high-quality goals. Review the personalized suggestions on your Goals tab and turn them into actionable goals with just a few clicks. Managers can also use suggestions informed by feedback to support employee growth while maintaining appropriate privacy.
