Better Access Level Assignment

We are excited to introduce an improved experience for managing individual users’ access in BambooHR. This will reduce errors and increase efficiency in access level management.

Previously, access management options for each user were in a single dropdown menu in Settings. With this update, admins will notice these options separated into individual options to choose from when reviewing or editing an individual user’s access, which makes it easy to distinguish what action is needed.

Also included in this update are some changes to the access management options on the employee profile.

Settings

For each user within an access level in Settings, there will be three access management options to choose from:

  1. Preview: The eye icon will allow you to preview BambooHR as the user will see it.
  2. Manage/edit access: Clicking on the lock icon will bring up a pop-up box where you can move the user to a new access level, add them to multiple access levels, or remove their access.
  3. Dropdown menu: This three-dot icon includes the option of sending the user a password reset email. If you have BambooHR® Payroll, the Manage Payroll Access option will also show for payroll admins.

Employee profile

On the employee profile, selecting Manage Access will bring up a new modal, where you can edit a user’s access or assign them to multiple access levels (as shown in the example below). Additionally, we have updated the wording for the preview option to provide more clarity. The preview option will now state “View BambooHR as [Employee Name].”
