Carrier Error Discrepancy Management for Demographic Data

This update introduces the Carrier Connections Issues page, a new feature designed to streamline the process of resolving data discrepancies between BambooHR and the carrier’s system. It is an essential tool for admins to view and address errors that arise during the data synchronization process with carriers via our integration partner, Ideon.

The page has three tabs that categorize errors by urgency and type, allowing you to efficiently prioritize and resolve issues. Additionally, if you have errors across multiple plan years, you can filter errors by using the plan year selector on this page.

  1. Election & Demographic: The Election & Demographic tab lists employees with a number of errors in their benefit election and demographic data. Errors in dependent data are grouped under the employee to whom they pertain.
  2. Missing People: The Missing People tab shows employees who have errors but do not have an employee profile in BambooHR.
  3. Other: The Other tab lists errors, identified by Ideon, that our system has not accounted for. Errors are sorted by carrier.


This update focuses on the functionality of the Election & Demographic tab, where you will be able to automatically resolve demographic data errors from within BambooHR.
Clicking View for a specific employee will bring up a list of errors pertaining to that employee, grouped by employee and dependents (if applicable) in the left column. Once you click on an error, the section on the right will show you more details and what you can do to resolve it. As you review the details, you will need to select which of the two systems are correct (BambooHR or the carrier). The error resolution workflow will vary depending on the system you select.
In the example above, the employee's SSN is incorrect in BambooHR. The carrier has the correct SSN, which means the employee’s SSN needs to be updated in BambooHR to match the carrier’s data.
To do this, simply fill out all necessary fields and click Resolve and Update to automatically update the employee’s information in BambooHR. Efficiency has never been so effortless!

If BambooHR has the correct information but the carrier does not, we will provide steps on how to resolve the error with your carrier. Once resolved, simply click Mark as Resolved. This action updates the carrier’s records and closes the support ticket in Ideon. This feature enhances data accuracy and lightens your administrative workload, enabling your HR team to focus on more strategic objectives.
