Critical Illness Coverage Amounts

Benefits administrators can now define coverage amounts when adding a critical illness insurance plan (employee-paid) in BambooHR. Previously, admins had to compile and send coverage amounts for critical illness insurance plans outside of BambooHR. This time-saving update is part of our ongoing effort to streamline the process of communicating benefit enrollment data to carriers.


Admins will need to select Critical Illness as the plan type under a supplemental health plan in Settings → Benefits. They will be able to add coverage amounts in the Coverage Options step and then save the plan after completing all applicable fields.

Once the plan is added to an enrollment window, employees will be able to view and select coverage amounts during the enrollment process. Admins can then approve coverage amounts and enter costs before sending them to their carriers using one of our three output options: CSV file exports, PDF Form Builder, or carrier connections.
