Custom Journal Entry Builder
You can now easily create custom journal entry reports tailored to your specific business needs, streamlining your accounting processes. With the new Custom Journal Entry Builder, you can create detailed reports with segmentations based on:
- Wages
- Employee deductions
- Employee taxes
- Employer deductions
- Employer taxes
- Payroll fees
- Cash transactions
You can group these line items by department, division, employee name, employee work location, or home location. To make reporting even easier, you’ll be able to input your company’s GL codes directly into the system, ensuring that every journal entry reflects your organization's needs.
Quick Steps to Set Up Custom Journal Entry Reports:
- Easy Access: Navigate to Settings > Payroll > Journal Entry and select “Add Another Report Configuration.”
- Customization at Your Fingertips: Click “Build a Custom Journal Entry” and enter a unique report name to get started.
- Advanced Configuration: Use the Custom Journal Entry Report Builder to group categories and add GL Codes. You can group by Department, Division, Employee Name, Work Location, and Home Location, selecting up to two groupings per category.
- Detailed Control: After grouping, add GL Codes to each memo, filtered by your selected categories and groupings.
- Preview and Adjust: Before finalizing, preview your report to ensure accuracy. Remember, once published, only GL Codes can be edited, so it’s important to get it right!
- Final Steps: Choose “Publish Report” to save it in a ready-to-use format, “Save Draft” to continue working on it later, or “Cancel” to discard changes.
This new feature eliminates the need for specialized services for custom reports, putting the power of financial reporting back in your hands.
