Terminated Employee Record Management
Managing employee records after termination just got a lot simpler. With automatic read-only controls, you can protect data accuracy, avoid unintended changes, and maintain a cleaner system without extra manual oversight.
Terminated and inactive employee records now transition to a read-only state after a defined grace period (90 days for accounts benefits administration, 1 year for accounts with payroll, 30 days for those without either). This helps ensure records stay accurate and aligned with the employee lifecycle while still giving you time to make final updates when needed.
You’ll also see clear in-product guidance showing how long you have before a record becomes read-only, so there’s no guesswork.
Once an employee is marked as terminated or inactive, a visible banner appears on their profile showing how much time remains to make edits. After the grace period ends, key sections like Personal, Job, Documents, and Custom tabs become read-only to prevent further changes.
