Your Employees Can Now Opt Into Paperless Tax Documents

We have added a new space within the Pay Info tab for employees to opt into paperless tax documents. Within each employee's Pay Info tab under Tax Documents, they now have the ability to select paperless by opting in at the bottom of the page.

For all employees, BambooHR will upload tax documents to the Pay Info tab. The default option within BambooHR is to mail copies to all your employees. However, if employees have already opted into digital or mailed copies within TRAXPayroll®, their selection has been reflected in BambooHR.

Prior to January 14th, 2022, please make sure your employees review their election for tax document delivery and opt for paperless unless they would like a mailed copy. As you know, we charge $4.25 per printed and mailed W-2 or 1099 form. Terminated employees will be mailed their tax documents regardless of their elected status.

If paperless is not selected, BambooHR will mail (if applicable or terminated) employee documents by the end of the month, January 31, 2022. BambooHR will send an email notice to account administrators followed by an email notifying all employees that the final version of their tax document is available.

To review which employees have elected for the mailed delivery option, you may run the W-2 Delivery Method Report within TRAXPayroll®. To view and run the report, simply select Reports, select Date Range, then Additional, and finally W-2 Delivery Method Report.
