What is BambooHR AI?
BambooHR AI includes features and functionality that use artificial intelligence, machine learning, large language models, automated tools, and related technologies. Certain features may use models or services provided by third-party AI service providers. BambooHR AI includes features and functionality that use artificial intelligence, machine learning, large language models, automated tools, and related technologies. Certain features may use models or services provided by third-party AI service providers. Current AI features include:
- Ask BambooHR: Get instant answers to route HR questions anytime, and anywhere with an easy-to-use AI-powered chat interface.
- eNPS AI Topic Summaries: Use AI to parse the free responses in your eNPS survey to extract themes and topics.
What terms govern the AI features?
The AI Addendum is incorporated into BambooHR's Terms of Service, and governs customer access and use of any BambooHR AI feature.
Are BambooHR's AI features compliant with AI laws?
The AI features that our customers can access depend on the package to which they are currently subscribed. Certain AI-enabled features may be optional and may be enabled or disabled by the customer. Availability and controls vary by feature, product, service tier, geography, and configuration. To do so, navigate to the Settings page of BambooHR and activate the appropriate toggle to start the setup process for that feature. You can see a list of our current AI-powered features above.

Does BambooHR use customer data to train AI models?
BambooHR does not use customer-provided data to train or fine-tune third-party AI models for BambooHR’s independent use, except where expressly authorized by the customer or required to provide the Services and permitted under applicable agreements and law. Where BambooHR uses Customer Data to improve its own Services, that use is subject to contractual commitments, data-protection obligations, and appropriate safeguards.
