Frequently Asked Questions
What is a total compensation statement?
Total compensation statements show employees the value of benefits, bonuses, time off, perks, equity, and more. Total Rewards helps leaders and HR communicate the company’s investment in their employees.
Who is Employee Community for?
Employee Community is for businesses looking to improve their internal communications and foster engagement and connection among employees. Employee Community makes sending announcements and updates easy. HR can easily create groups for departments, topics, teams, or employees with similar interests.
What is a good Employee Satisfaction score for my company?
A “good” score will vary depending on your industry, company size, location, and a number of other factors, but a score between 30–50 is considered “good.” Any improvement from a previous survey is positive.
BambooHR measures employee satisfaction using the Employee Net Promoter System (eNPS). Employees rate how likely they are to recommend the company as a good place to work on a scale of 0 to 10. Scores of 9 to 10 are promoters, 7 to 8 are neutrals, and 6 or below are detractors. The eNPS score is calculated by subtracting the percentage of detractors from the percentage of promoters.
What is a good Employee Wellbeing score for my company?
Scores above 4.0 are considered “good”—meaning employees are selecting either “agree” or “strongly agree” to questions like “I regularly receive recognition from my manager” or “I feel personal achievement in my role.”
Employee Wellbeing scores are calculated for each of the four categories of questions: Happiness, Personal Motivators, Company Motivators, and Relationships, and scored on a 0 to 5 scale.
How are Employee Satisfaction and Employee Wellbeing different?
Employee Satisfaction gives companies organization-wide insight into employee satisfaction. The feature also identifies what employees are talking about and their feelings about those topics.
Employee Wellbeing goes deeper into understanding an employee’s needs. Employee Wellbeing surveys are usually more frequent, while Employee Satisfaction is usually done once or twice a year.
Employee Wellbeing and Employee Satisfaction are designed to be used together, but they can also be used interdependently.
What is an employee satisfaction survey?
An employee satisfaction survey combines qualitative and quantitative questions to gauge what employees like and dislike about their workplace. Quantitative questions use numerical scales, such as asking employees to rate the meaningfulness of their work from 1 to 5.
This helps track average scores over time. Qualitative questions are open-ended, allowing employees to explain their feelings about their jobs and various workplace elements.
