In 2023, our Customer Support team spent over 700,000 hours helping HR pros in 190 countries around the world. We added and updated 597 user guides in our Help Center to ensure 24/7 access to platform support. User feedback provided inspiration for 177 product updates, making BambooHR truly an all-in-one HRIS.

As an honorary member of HR teams across the globe, we learned and grew together with our customers.

2023 was the year of the Hiring Hero. Candidates and recruiters alike faced major headwinds, including mass layoffs, financial anxieties, and the continuing evolution of the remote workforce. Hiring Heroes didn't let these challenges break their stride—instead, they loaded up on experience points by attracting, hiring, and retaining top talent. In 2023, 46% of HR leaders said recruiting was a top priority, and our platform data tells us that goal became a reality throughout the year.

In addition to adding a record number of new candidates, BambooHR Hiring Heroes rolled out the welcome wagon for new hires with 893,126 new hire packets and 10,859,462 e-signature documents.

In 2023, performance management was a team effort. Gone are the days of manager-only performance assessments. This year, BambooHR^® Performance Management self-assessments rose by 23%—and the number of peer feedback surveys soared by 25%!

Performance management impacts more than everyday productivity. In fact, performance management tops the list of activities that drive employee retention. In 2023, BambooHR Performance Pros skillfully streamlined performance processes, navigated constructive conversations, empowered people managers, and more.

HR pros used data and technology to drive efficiency and business growth in 2023. Notably, AI’s rapid rise through popular tools like ChatGPT seemed to take everyone by surprise (and not always in a good way—Leeroy Jenkins!).

Capterra reports that 80% of businesses now use HR software, which made the Data Defender—the captain of the HRIS—a key player on every HR team in 2023. This year, BambooHR customers showed off their epic data skills and streamlined their HR tech stacks by adding BambooHR^® Payroll and Benefits Administration to their BambooHR accounts.

Powered by BambooHR, Data Defenders collectively added more than 24,000 integrations and 1.3 million new reports (a 179% increase from last year). HR pros' leadership was essential in a year full of tech anxiety—and armed businesses with game-changing insights.

HR pros bring people together and help everyone thrive. This year, Hiring Heroes, Performance Pros, Data Defenders, and every other HR player came together to uplift employees.

As employee happiness reaches an all-time low, HR teams are even more crucial leaders in combating this satisfaction slump, with help from employee engagement tools like eNPS and Employee Wellbeing surveys.

BambooHR helped HR pros complete 370,767 Employee Wellbeing surveys this year—and employees were eager to participate, with responses increasing by 42%.

HR teams also helped employees access important benefits this year through more than 2.4 million completed open enrollments through BambooHR. Beyond the workplace, our HR pros reminded employees to prioritize work-life balance by processing more than 25 million PTO requests.
